As an international student i was faced with thoughts of fear and self doubt before i came to the University of Charleston. I was going to become a part of a new culture and new surroundings and i did not know what to expect. Thankfully i chose the perfect school to go to. From the moment i arrived at UC i was greeted by friendly faculty and even friendlier students. My first year experience was a very smooth transition because of the help from my peer educator and mentor. You will be hard pressed to find another school where there is this much emphasis put on knowing the students rather than treating students as if they were a number. Not only have i been able to be extremely involved on campus but also translate my hard work ethic into the Charleston community. This is definitely the school to go to if one is looking for a city that will be able to accommodate their internship and work needs. In addition, i became a part of Greek life on campus; Greek Life has made a steady improvement as the years have gone on and there is a healthy competition among Greeks to create the best events on campus and have more students involved. Overall this school only stands to get better and i am truly blessed to have been able to grow as a person at the University of Charleston.
