I've had limited interaction with the main campus, but I did obtain my degree from the satellite campus in Norwich. The Norwich campus is an absolute joke. The teachers are allowed to mistreat their students and to treat you arrogantly, and while I completely agree doing your homework and studying is important, many of the teachers are inept at actually teaching. I used to defend the college the first couple of semesters by gently reminding students they can't slag on their homework without dire consequences; however, I was spoiled the first two semesters, and when I dropped part time to get my Associate's, the remainder of the semesters were a fucking nightmare. I saw a huge turnover in teachers throughout the years and for good reason: the decent teachers I had were ones I had in high school and were retiring.

The enrollment rate is dropping and for good reason. With the exception of Nancy Heiss, nobody around there gives a shit about you; they only want a paycheck. The campus was great in theory, especially for an economically depleted area like Chenango County with a high welfare/unemployment rate. Many of the people attending are disabled and looking to make something of themselves, but the lack of compassion for students is a disheartening experience.

I will give mad props to Mr. Dye and his ability to reach out to students. Nancy Heiss is also an excellent academic adviser and knows how to say the right thing to make you feel better in a bad situation.
