Interesting, I would have to disagree. Due to the small student to faculty ratio, especially in the English department, the journey at Grand View is what the student makes of it. I have had no such experience at this University and find most of these comments to be entirely outrageous. All of the professors are always more than willing to take time out of their day in order to individually cater to the needs of the student. You insult the intelligence level of the student body but cannot even proofread your own post and spell "Lutheran" correctly. I regret to say, that these aforementioned comments are far from indicative of the quality education Grand View provides. |

Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Grandview caters to athletes. Drinking is a favorite activity, I even had a professor tell a student who didn't drink that "maybe you should start". Your advisors are your teachers, so if you're having a problem with a class they will defend the class over you even when it's not right. Since there is no public university in Des Moines, GVU charges a stupid amount of money (I already owe $26,000). GVU is a Luthern school and has no problem making fun of/insulting other religions (I am Catholic). Also, the general intelligence level of all the farm kids who go to GVU is pretty low- if you want proof take a look at this years Bifrost (a literary journal that GVU actually has the gall to brag about- I would NEVER show this to a potential employer). Also, the English department is disorganized and incomplete and has not yet taught me any skills that I can use in the working world. Oh, and if you want to be a creative writer, forget it. There are only two classes for creative writing, both taught by the same teacher, and neither covers much more than poetry.
