Canish is a Private Jesuit school in Buffalo,ny. It's small and has about 4000-5000 undergrads. It's located in an ok neighborhood in the city- believe me there are worse neighborhoods in the city. Overall the school atmosphere is very friendly. Even though a vast majority of the students are privilege and snobby there is a good amount of students that come from different backgrounds. The community is a tight nit one and that's something I like.

Most of the academics are tolerable but the bio department is crazy difficult! The pre med department is very helpful if that is the path you are taking and the school boasts that 9 out of 10 students make it to med school.

There is a tutoring center where fellow students that are experts in their subject can tutor it. I usually go there for math or bio and its very helpful for homework or review before a exam. There are also other places on campus like a counselling center on campus that are there to help the students.

The campus is very pretty esp. in the fall and winter and I just love to sit in the quad and think.

Honestly I fell in love with Canisius. I went abroad the fall semester of my junior year to London and the school there was just to big and disconnected and it made me miss the canisius' atmosphere. (Oh I forgot to mention that Canisius has an excellent study abroad program and they will encourage and help you study abroad all around the world.)

The thing is Canisius is not for everyone. If you want the generic college experience like from a movie I wouldn't recommend my school, but canish has other things to offer.
