Subject matter is interesting and facilities are great. Some teaching faculty genuinely care about students and are so helpful. I am thankful for these instructors. Biggest issue is the leadership and administration attitudes and policies.

Some nursing faculty are very discouraging in the manner they communicate with students. New nursing students are lectured at and spoken to as if they are children and not responsible adults. There is not a feeling that this is student-centered program and about student success, but rather about the program itself and what the faculty prefers and wants it to be.

Scheduling is extremely inflexible. And faculty do not seem to care that you have to work to make a living outside of the nursing program. New students are told that nursing program should be their number one priority no matter what and this isn't open to the reality of many students lives. Particularly non-traditional students who may have families or need to work to live and make ends meet, among commuting to school, etc. Concerning commuting, classes are scheduled so unnecessarily early as to make commuter driving safety an issue. Faculty have stated that they do not consider commuting time and thus, commuting students in their decision-making. This and the fact that you have no say in your schedule, should really be advertised prior to admittance into the program. As some students do require a school that can work with them within the structure and limits of the system of course.

Some faculty do not seem professional in discussing other students with other faculty members. An instructor also passive aggressively said that students were not working hard enough and "getting" it in class and that her teaching was not at fault.

Scheduling is done very last minute.

They are not a very seasoned nursing school, so perhaps they feel they have a lot to prove, I don't know. But leadership needs some improvement for sure. Other than that, great potential for a nursing program and located at a great school and campus!
