King College, which is now King University, is overall a pretty decent school.

I will discuss some positives and negative below:

The parking here is AWFUL. Not only as a commuter can you not find parking, but the parking lots are so badly damaged I actually managed to tear the front end off my car while going here?. twice! They offer huge and up close parking lots for the ON CAMPUS students, which makes ZERO sense to me.

I'm from the area of Bristol, and although coming here I knew a quite a few people, making friends is nearly impossible. Unless you are a Bible thumper, in which case you will fit in perfectly. Don't get me wrong here though, I'm not bashing; I think that religion is great. Just when it comes to King, being a commuter AND non religious basically means no friends for you, so beware.

The buildings here are atrocious. Other than the few new buildings, like the Student Center and Hyde Hall, everything is run down and drafty, so expect to feel whatever temperature it is outside, inside your classroom. King's president recently got into some trouble by an outside source funding a medical school because they sent a ton of money, and it all "disappeared". Funny, none of us students who pay 40 grand a year see ANY of that.

King's psychology program is excellent. The professors, especially Thompson, are all super helpful and informative, and also VERY easy to get in touch with which was super important to me, a student who very closely watched her grades.

When I first came to King I was a photography major. DO NOT COME HERE FOR THIS. The program is absolute crap, for lack of better words. There is currently ONE professor, and he clearly is busy doing his own thing rather than being there for his students. I graduated with a minor in photo, simply because I had already taken enough classes by the time I switched majors.

King social life is SEVERELY lacking. Bristol is a dead town, it has been all my life. Now if your into the outdoors, it's not so bad; there are SOME decent hiking activities here. But don't expect a party school, I went to the University of Tennessee for a semester and let me tell you, King is the COMPLETE opposite.

So, wrap up,

Come here if you want a decent quality education, with a pretty name from a private school on that Bachelors degree. King does have some excellent programs, such as photography, and the religion department. If a small town, conservative town is not what you're looking for however, be warned.
