OU is a beautiful campus but there is NO DIVERSITY and everyone from OHIO…. I rather transfer to a better academic school than this one. I wouldn't consider "OU" has a good school just lower average on academics but party life.. more than average. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A GOOD ACADEMIC SCHOOL… STAY AWAY! I am from out of state and it sucks being from out of state because so many people go home and live close by. Transportation to airport can be annoying and very limited. It also not that diverse especially the undergraduate. It seems that people rather be known as a top party school than actually focus on their academics and people only choose to go here for the partying…seriously? Social life is the SAME every friday bars…after the house parties…it's only fun if you have connections and know a bunch of people otherwise nope, nothing to do on the weekends except party…but even partying gets boring I rather sit in my room and watch Netflix. My first year dorm experience SUCKED…people I live with are still in the high school phase and all friends from high school ( DON'T live with your friends from high school …go out and meet NEW PEOPLE or you won't meet anyone else if you're going to be with your friends from high school 24/7. I love OU as a campus its so beautiful. The dining hall food gets so boring after a while same thing every day… It is in the middle of nowhere and there nothing to do especially if you don't have a car, but even if you have a car there is rarely anywhere to go since its in the middle of NOWHERE. Uptown is nice but gets boring after a while. Everyone here just wants to party every day of the week rather than focus on their school work. I am thinking about transferring to a school with more diversity and closer to home and not to far in the middle of NOWHERE. If you live in OHIO and love to party and don't like diversity school is for you… but if you're out-of-state, it's annoying, it's in the middle of nowhere no diversity everyone from ohio and it sucks…people are nice but…eh I rather go to a better academic school with diversity.
