Overall, Iona is not a bad school at all. The education is better than decent and as for the social life, it is what you make of it. If you're an introvert you're going to find it very hard to like it here, or at any school for that matter. What it comes down to is putting yourself out there if you want the real college experience. Here at Iona, the bar scene predominates so a good fake ID will be to your benefit. One negative aspect of the school is the core curriculum. They make you take classes like computer science, fine and performing arts, and history; all classes a typical high school student would take. They also make you take philosophy, religion, a foreign language, psychology, science, and math. Provided it is a liberal arts education so this is expected. However I feel that if they let the students pick two or three of these courses that they wanted to take from a list of required disciplines rather than just forcing all of them on us, the education here would run much more smoothly.
