Major: Linguistics (This Major's Salary over time)
Program was ok… there are some teachers who are wonderful, and then some who are terrible and very few (if any) in between, so it is a hit or miss. Some teachers are hard to avoid, as they have a monopoly on certain required classes. The program is 98% women, 1% gay male, and 1% old creeper males…so good luck if you are female and thinking you will meet a guy in this major…not possible… Also, the school overall is 65% female or more…so it is pretty dismal prospects.Overall the students are nice, but there are too many ESL speakers who have a low level of English proficiency. Oftentimes they bog the classes down because they are unable to respond, understand, or participate in class. Personally I think there should be far more rigid acceptance rules (like higher TOEFL scores, a required GRE writing score of at least 5) before admittance for foreign students.
