The planners at UBC destroyed the campus life experience for young adults. They sold off tracts of land to property developers who made cheap housing for families with very small children, who have nothing to do with the university. There are nervous mothers pushing strollers everywhere. Every cafe has crying children. It's nerve-racking that you can't study anywhere, even at home, without hearing crying or nuisance children. I feel robbed of my university life experience. If you value a true university experience, you should pass on UBC.
