St. John's is a very good, very different kind of school. It appeals to students who think for themselves, and provides excellent financial aid to those who truly want to attend, so while racially bland, the school hosts a variety of backgrounds and stories. You have to want it. If you don't want it, you'll hate it. So don't make this a safety school, or last-minute crap shoot for a school you know you'll get into, because I guarantee you will hate it if this isn't what you want. The reason I love St. John's above all is because it is honest. Other schools have turned the "college experience" into a selling point, and have forgotten what it means to be a place of learning. We have no big sports teams, no multimillion dollar alumni events, and no ways for students to work around the system. At don rags, our form of evaluation, tutors will never hold back punches. You will know more about yourself that you ever wanted to, which is precisely why you have to really want to come and stay here. Don't be scared, though. Everybody is very friendly. You won't be drowning in work, if you can learn how to manage it. The biggest struggles you'll have here are internal ones - just the kind the school encourages.
