I was in the social work program at UTC and it was an abomination. Extremely religious orientation (run by seventh day adventists) and a pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps approach to clients in the field of social work; The antithesis of social work ethics in my mind. whatever happened to recognizing inequality? Professors skim right past this aspect of social work and focus on chilly rogerian interviewing. there was a lot of power hunger in this crowd of petty non-tenured faculty- and there are only like 5, so forget arranging your schedule or hoping to graduate on time if you dont take everything in the one time slot available.

Then I switched to sociology. Dr. Terri Lemoyne inspired me so much, but I can't remember the names of another single professor at UTC. women's center was awesome, I must say.
