Iona College didn't live up to any of my expectations, and it isn't run like a higher level academic institution. Their academic resource center is haphazardly run, and lacks service - if you can even find anyone available to meet with you. A job recruiter I met with was shocked that my resume was approved -and told me it looked like a rough copy.

Since leaving Iona, I have visited other campuses, of course, with my eyes wide-opened and focused on education, career development, academic resources, and tools for learning, and most importantly a caring academic community with happy and motivated employees. Iona college lacks these services.

My advice, if you are considering in attending Iona College, is to bypass the group tours, open houses, and spend a day. Meet with a Career Development Director, and ask for details, job reports, ask for a copy of the companies that attend Iona's annual internship and job fairs, and how many fortune 500 companies, etc attend and hire Iona students.

Ask how Iona's employee turnover is? Ask the President and his administration for updated reports on retention rates graduation rates, hiring rates, and how much debt the average student is in.

I had to leave Iona, but I went to Iona based on information that proved to be inaccurate, and now I had to redue the entire college application process again, but this time, I'm wiser and knew what to look for in a well-run higher education community of learning - THAT CARES FOR THE WELFARE OF STUDENTS AND ALUMS. I would give Iona College a very low rating in the area or student caring.

Another example, we were told when we enrolled, that class sizes are small - some of my core classes had 35 - 40 students - when max 25 should have been in the class. IONA CARES ABOUT MONEY AND NUMBERS, AND WINNING MEN'S BASKETBALL GAMES - Iona College Administrator's care about QUANTITY NOT QUALITY, and without Quality you lack important services.

So my advice is to research and do a lot of homework on Iona, and ask for reports, and meet with current students and call Alums.
