Major: Math (This Major's Salary over time)
My experience at SAU was a mixed bag, but is probably more negative than positive. I got my first degree at University of Arkansas Community College at Hope and transferred for my bachelor's in math with a minor in Computer Science. I wish I had just gotten a two year degree to get started so I would not have had to have gone to this school.

The Mathematics program was pretty bad without any set of proper pre-reqs and co-reqs to make sure that the student is prepared for the courses and the Computer Science program was worse. The professors were mostly foreign with English problems and seemed apathetic to whether or not the student understood or got the subject. They were more preoccupied with getting the students out of the classes, one way or another, without making sure they had a firm understanding of the subjects. They seemed unqualified and only concerned for their paychecks.

The advising faculty was terrible. I was not assigned a true advisor until a certain number of credit hours were taken. I was assigned a student advisor first at the tutoring center and they had no understanding of the classes they were enrolling the students in!

The tuition was overpriced for the quality of the curriculum and the college used many facilities that look outdated while other brand new buildings were being built.

Overall, I would say save your money or just pay a little extra to go to a better school with a much better curriculum that will give you the skills and training that you need to find a good job. The community college that I went to was far better and gave a better bang for my buck than this school in education, training, cost, and satisfaction. Here you are just a number.
