Some professors are friendly and helpful. They want you to succeed, even as they academically challenge you. Open door policy. Then you have the condescending professors who are rigid, long-winded and one-sided. Some only want you to parrot their thoughts & knowledge. College going co-ed, so courses & sports, clubs may expand more. Food mediocre - hit or miss on a good meal. Needs more options (try & get a glass of milk!) & should be open earlier & open later, especially on weekends. Staff won't let you in if a minute past closing. Security needs to tighten up. Road used as a 'cut-through' during the day, so lots of strangers on campus. Arguments and occasional fighting incidents with tougher girls - police have been called. Some girls intimidating & loud. Can't count on my floor RA to step up in dorm. (Sometimes she's part of the party!) Maybe there should be floor behavior contracts signed and tougher RA's put in place. The agreement should be enforced and not in name only. Dorms could use some sprucing. Bathrooms too. Cleaning staff friendly & try really hard to keep up. Nice to have a sink in the room. Beautiful campus & easy to maneuver. Small classes, which is nice. Hate to say it - I carry mace in my pocket at night. My Mom, who is an alumnae, disappointed in direction the college went and wants me to transfer out.
Responses
responseThank you for your review. I am an Alumni Class of 1991 and have only warm, wonderful memories of my time at CSE. My oldest son is now starting to apply to colleges for the fall of 2016. I had seriously considered CSE but have read reviews such as yours and have decided to apply elsewhere. Best of luck to you.
