If you are a psychology student and you are considering to apply to CSU East Bay , please do a favor to yourself : don?t do it ! Stay away from CSU East Bay if you don?t want to struggle for getting your degree in a fashionable time. CSU East Bay doesn?t offer enough courses, consequently the time you spend to graduate is negatively impacted. There are two campuses , one is in Concord and one is in Hayward. At Concord campus, students ? theoretically? should able to graduate in psychology, but ?practically? they can?t because only few courses ( one or two per quarter) are offered . At Hayward campus the situation is very similar. Psychology students have to change majors or take a quarter off because there are no classes available. The seats available in any psychology course end after few minutes registration to classes opens. Waiting list for the courses easily goes up to #20/25. Laboratories have 12/14 seats available and the waiting list might reach #40 and more.. The employees in office psychology department are extremely rude with students. They seems to be very annoyed when students ask for help. If students complain for not having classes for the quarter, the employees tend to blame students instead of saying the truth: there are a lot of psychology students and few courses available every quarter. More students get close to graduation more the situation gets worse because students have to take specific courses and if courses are full they have to wait for the next quarter. This is what happened to me and to many friends. I was waiting forever to take 1 lab and 2 courses. I decided to change college and I finished my degree in another university. Furthermore, the quality of the staff is very questionable. Some professors are great, but some other have very poor quality. I had a statistic professor that was constantly making mistakes, didn?t teach anything at all and was used to ask students to explain to other students the material he was supposed to teach. He was embarrassing. I wanted to share my experience because if I would know what I was going to go through I would never apply at CSU East Bay.
