Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
If you are an AS Major without a private license and are not dedicated enough to work 5-6 days a week you are bound to fail. However, I came in with my private license (thank god) and did not have to go through the horrific struggle of trying to get through private. Not to mention how incredibly expensive it is to get private at Embry-Riddle, it takes students an average of about 3 semesters. On top of this, waiting for a checkride takes literally a month and a half and the whole process is just beyond stressful. A good portion of the Flight Instructors are only here to get the hours and really dont share the same passion as a lot of students trying there hardest here. Ive heard all the bad stories and how hard people work to get there private and it sounds terrible. My advice: If you are not willing to work hard and/or come in with ur private, take a look in the mirror and think about picking a different school or even a different profession. The graduation rate is only 52%, according to FASFA and the social life could be the worst in the country.
