Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
I just finished my first year at Colby-Sawyer and I do not regret it one bit. I have met so many different kinds of people that I have been looking to connect with for most of my life. For the most part, everyone is friendly. Because it is a small school, there is a lot of gossip and everybody knows everybody but that is inevitable. There are an abundance of clubs to join and you can also start your own if the school is able to fund you.The academics can be really hard here. Because it is a Liberal Arts college, expect to write, A LOT. Especially Psych majors. They overall do try to prepare you for the real world, so the work is tedious. But in the end it will totally be worth it. This school gives you a lot of opportunities to get experience and obtain more knowledge about your area of learning. It is easy to stay focused on campus because even though there are not a lot of events going on everyday, there are a lot of comfortable study spaces to stay and do your work if you ever want to get out of your room. This college is like my second home to me and even though it is small and kind of expensive, I wouldn't have it any other way.It makes me sad to see some negative comments on here, especially because it is all about how you make your time here on campus. A lot of people just want to come for the parties, but it is NOT that kind of school. We do have some parties, but there are not crazy like at UNH, which I'm completely fine with. I spend money to learn and educate myself, not to get belligerent every weekend. Overall, the academics are challenging but it's a beautiful school with many opportunities to grow.
