Because UPike admits all applicants, there is no basis of common academics or even the ability to study. So many students here are on scholarships paid for by the government that many of them don't seem to care at all about their education. The faculty knows this and teach accordingly. The best athletes here are comparable to NCAA D2 but, mainly because this college accepts everyone and gets them financing, the marginal athletes go here to keep playing their sport. The rate at which athletes from UPike go on to professional sports is tiny. I just wish this school could be a real college with real academics and some pride in learning rather than just a place to generate income from athletes that can't get into D1 or D2 schools. Sadly, not much to say here that is positive in terms of actual education.
