Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
Straight out of high school, I applied to St Kate's to attend their College for Women on the St. Paul campus. I loved the St. Paul campus. I'm kind of an introvert, but everyone seemed pleasant and said hi in passing. The campus was beautiful and every class that I took was engaging and fun. With one exception, I felt that all classes were relevant to my future field. However, the college for women became too expensive for me, so I decided to switch over to the Minneapolis campus for their College for Adults co-ed nursing program (which is cheaper credit wise). What a mistake that was. The Minneapolis campus is definitely a historical landmark, but it smells terribly of mold. The temperature in the building fluctuates terribly and the heaters smell as well. The food is absolutely terrible on this campus and is incredibly overpriced. Everything is made in the microwave. They put expired food in the displays for sale and everything is stale. And the parking over here is absolutely ridiculous. St Kate's doesn't even have a parking lot over here, so you have to street park. The neighborhood behind the Minneapolis campus is incredibly sketchy and is not well lit, which is kind of scary at night (and many of the classes on this campus are in the evening, so you have to walk to your car after class in the dark). People in the neighborhood will do drugs in the park behind St. Kate's and I had someone follow me to my car one night and I felt very unsafe. I hate this campus. We also seem to get the leftover, broken supplies that aren't needed on the St. Paul campus anymore. The toilets also leak water all over the floor in almost every bathroom. There's rumor that they're going to merge campuses, and I really really hope that they move the evening/weekend nursing program over to the St. Paul campus. It's much safer over there, the food is better, and the facilities are incredible.
