That's pretty interesting since I'm currently a student in the accountancy program and most of them do have experience. Babken runs his own tax practice, Weiss has worked at EY according to his syllabus, and Doron who's class I will be enrolled in next semester is supposed to be a former auditor from a big 4 firm. So I don't know where these ideas are coming from. |
Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
I found that my first two years of school - going through the general education requirements were boring and a waste of time. Most of the teachers were tenured and taught like crap. The accounting courses were taught by professors that had never actually been in the profession so they couldn't answer any of my questions. Most teachers in general ed were extremely liberal and biased and I was graded down a few times for voicing my opinions. Back then we worked hard. We didn't need puppies and cuddles during finals. We studied 20 hours a day for two weeks and it made us tough. Tough enough to make it in the "real" corporate world.
