SLC depends on a reputation for rigor that's decades out of date. You take three classes at a time. Each of these may only meet once per week. They may require as little as one 10-page paper - or less - at the end of the semester. If you're burned out by serious work from high school, maybe this will work for you. You can use that time to take internships in NYC, in theory. If you choose the school to study one subject, keep in mind that professors decide if you'll get into their classes. I didn't get a single class in my chosen field until senior year.

If you depend on financial aid, you will be treated like garbage. A FA officer told me

if you wanted a free ride, you should have gone to a state school.

They suggested I cut breakfast from my meal plan to save money. (No: even low-income students deserve three meals a day).
