Date: May 17 2006 Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time) Ferris has some good programs and some not so good. It is a good school for adults returning to school to get a practical education to improve their job prospects. Where I work, Ferris grads are seen as hands-on problem solvers, but GPA is important. No matter what college you go to, hard work and enjoying what you do are key to your future. I enjoyed going to school there and learned a lot, but wasn't really prepared for how to interview or look for jobs or what to expect. I took a low paying job and through hard work, late hours, 5 promotions, getting a 2nd (graduate) degree, and a job change, worked my way up to a decent salary. I sometimes wonder if I had gone to a bigger, well-known school, could I have advanced more quickly, with less pain. If you go to a smaller college, like Ferris, expect to earn the respect that is more easily, and often-times, unfairly given to graduates of the big schools.
