Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
Pros
  • Many amazing teachers: there are faculty here that are qualified ot be teaching elsewhere like NYU or even harvard. The political science department is really filled with great minds with impressive credentials that are going to raise a few eyebrows.
  • Strong Programs: The programs that are strongest would be Economics, Political Science and Theater. Theater is #1 in the nation right now, which is huge. Political science is also a department with tons of depth.
  • Campus is Beautiful: It is a University in the forest. The campus is absolutely beautiful.
  • Grad school stepping stone: With good grades and solid scores you can get into big name schools everywhere. It is difficult but doable.
  • People: the people here are great generally. Liberal, accepting, and pretentous. A perfect mix. Occasionally you will see the Guido from south jersey.
  • Scocial life: The parties are great, the people are friendly, the town is picturesque, what more can you want????
  • Cons:

  • Bureaucratic nightmare: whoever is running this show is retarded. They are unorganized slow and not very smart. They will loose things. Hold the administrations hands because they will get lost without you
  • Alcohol policy: The alcohol policy is a mass hypocrisy. The president of the University has personally signed a petition to lower the drinking age to 18, the public safety is incredibly lenient, the RA's will not write you up for being drunk, only for doing stupid things. However they do not practice what they preach. They constantly inundate you with anti alcohol propaganda which can be very annoying. Even when they can force you to attend AA classes.
  • Theater program: I personally have a problem with the theater program. They are mostly pretentious disciples of stanaslavski and never shall they depart from his teachings. It is full of adjuncts and are still ranked #1. What is going on here??
  • Not Well Known: drew is not a school that rings a lot of bells. You will soon find, however, that within the academic world it is held in high regards. It incredibly underrated because it is a liberal arts school.
  • Too much: It is not worth the money. In all honesty it is way too expensive for the school that you get. It is not a big research school. It is a small quirky liberal arts college.
  • Ad-junkie: the Adjuncts suck. Every one of them is horrible. If you get one than you are fucked. There is no way to put it.
  • Drew is a great school to have fun in, yet still be challenged acedemicially. Plus you can get into good grad schools. But there is a lot of bullshit here. And it stinks of it. If you are conservative go away, you are not welcome. It is a LIBERAL arts college Emphasis on liberal.
