Ncu is the typical for profit schoolFeb 27 2017Business - Management and Administration
Ncu is the typical for profit school. The school only cares about money. Some of the instructors are down right awful and have delusion of grandeur. The research prof I just had was beyond awful. He made life a living hell. When students file a grade appeal the school just sides with the instructor. Also if you fail a class you have to pay out of pocket to retake the course even if the student was setup to fail. The dean clearly does not read the student grade appeal but saids the student is wrong.
Question
Online is not the best way to secureMay 24 2015Education
Online is not the best way to secure a doctorate. The school keeps changing the target and rules. Money is the motivator because it is an online profit making organization. NCU is being scrutinized by the US Dept of Ed (2015). This has been going on for years because the school appears to have financial problems although campuses were expanded a few years ago.

Have other white students noticed their assignments were graded down in part on their conservative opinions?
Question
Most of the rumors are NOT trueFeb 10 2014Business - Management and Administration
Most of the rumors are NOT true. I have been going to this school for over six months now and must say it is an okay school.

I can tell that the atmosphere of "leave me alone" was created by thousands of professionals wanting their MBA or PhD who worked for a living. It is a very lonely school. There is no connection with other students not even in discussions because there has only been one required post in my time there.

I think if you truly want to be left alone to do your work and never be called or connected with then this is your school.

I went to UC and completed their masters in criminal justice so I know what online programs are like. NCU however is very lonely... I'll say it again> IT IS LONELY.

I sign in everyday to add a bit to my assignment for the week and never do I have emails or messages waiting for me. Like I said before I think it has taken this role from professionals who did not want interaction but instead just wanted the credential or degree.

I literally sign into my account, research and write throughout the week, and submit my papers on Sunday nights. There is just nothing else to it.

I am learning a lot but I feel when I went into the PhD program I expected my Cj courses and less business but I was mistaken. You actually take an even amount when you include the research courses.

I have learned a few things about earning a PhD and I suggest if you are planning to attend this school you adhere to it. First of all, earning a PhD is not becoming an expert in anything it is instead challenging your writing skills to be developed by making you write at least a page everyday of the week. Over a four year time period you will obviously become a better writer... So it is not about learning something new per-se> it is geared towards making you a scholarly, professional writer.

Secondly, if a PhD ANYWHERE offered just conecentration or specialized courses I would do it. In fact, I am trying to get into NCU's C.A.G.S. program not using financial aid but I am not sure how it is going to work.

Taking the extra research courses and business courses is lame. They are not fun and not intriguing to a criminal justice major.

Just a quick not> the financial dept has never done me wrong and I get my stipend check to the day every 8 weeks. Honestly, do not believe the rumors. I say just apply and try the first course and see for yourself. It is a good school and I have learned a great deal but overall this is not the concentration for me. I am now in the process of looking for another masters> something relative to law or the justice system. My heart is just not in business administration.

Much of what the problem is at this school is that is will not prepare you fro anything in the real world. This is is simply a school for profit. every single assignment is a APA paper that has nothing to do with helping you advance in your career! Because for of this school. This is probably a good choice for those who cannot get into a regular GRE admissions grad programs and it is really good about financial aid stipends payouts, but you always get what you pay for. likewise, you won't really learn much in the shirt time-frame you have to complete assignments.
Question
In the 2 years that I have attendedAug 25 2013Business - Management and Administration
In the 2 years that I have attended on line classes at NCU there have been 2 substantial tuition hikes. The last 2 professors that I had did were not helpful and did not respond to emails or give constructive feedback that would assist on the successful completion of course work. I have had a couple of professors that have been very helpful and supportive (which they should be when you are paying this type of money) but it is those others that really prove that the school is a bad investment and you do not get the quality of education that you should.
