York University (Canada)

Ive enjoyed some of my classes. Some professors are great, some are awful. The campus is dead; not much is going on. Always stay alert. Most clubs are inactive and it has a sketchy athletics program. At least it still has the university vibe unlike Glendon that is no different from a middle school in terms of size and people.

The only good qualities of York are: it has some great professors who make their classes enjoyable, easily accessible by TTC, Schulich, and its PKIN courses. Other than all that, it isn't all that great. There's always some politics going on behind the scenes.

York is an okay school at best, with many notable flaws. Some pros of York are: there isn't too much pressure on students, raises awareness on mental health, has some good programs with some great professors, and location wise, it is very convenient for those who frequently take the TTC.

However, there are many cons that could be fixed. the administration is disorganized and can be unhelpful. The school uses many false but misleading statements on how "great" it is despite its already and undeniably poor reputation. Such examples include: how its "global impact ranking is 26th", its "kinesiology and intramurals programs are #1 in Canada", and how its other campus, Glendon, is a bilingual campus although it is NOT a bilingual campus at all. York does this attract more people since it is desperate to have more students enrolling to the school. Students then, realize that it's not really a great school. Once students get in, they'll also realize that York only thinks about profit; it focuses mostly on making more money instead of thinking about the well-being of students.

The campus is pretty much dead; in other words, not much is happening. York is really cheap, as it lacks so many resources although universities are supposed to be well-funded. The school itself even claimed that it cannot afford anything.

Safety is one of the major issues at York as well. One's safety on campus cannot be guaranteed.
The student body isn't good at all. Many clubs can be inactive and college student councils never do anything to improve the student body. Rather, they're focused on either parties or intramurals.

Its intramurals program is super disorganized and inefficient. It's terrible. It causes students to think they should play ALL intramural sports for torch points, provoking unnecessary conflicts and tension between colleges. Rather than having a fun and friendly envionment for participants, it is more of a warzone between colleges and participants. The program also modifies so many sports rules up to the point where it is no longer following the actual rules of the sport. But note that this review mostly applies to Keele Campus. Keep in mind that Glendon is far worse than Keele!
