This has been the biggest waste of 20+k. Very disappointing. The ft lauderdale city college Private Investigation program just sucks. The college cant keep a director of education and the staff are all cops who dont really teach pi stuff, they just teach cop stuff. They just talk at you to hear they selfs. They are just there to get the pay check or to play. The classes are a joke, a total retard could get a A in any class in Pi core. They hand out sylabi and for what? They dont follow it or actaully teach you anything useful that a you couldnt learn on your own. I spent all kinds of money on books and the instructer nevr had us open half of them. A total waste. Everybody talks big but never does enything that really makes a difference to the program as a whole. When you try to make suggestions they blow you off. Oh and ps if the instructer cop dont like you - its worse. The general ed classes are good and there are some really good instructers just not in the PI classes. If you really want to do this - go to the miami campus or casselbury campus or better yet...got to Keiser. This college is less challenging than high school or jr high for that matter. I graduated about 4mos ago and just kept thinking it was me...but after speaking to alot of other grads they felt the same about the PI classes and program. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else. I wish I had.
Private investigation A.S. student that is working towards as BS in business. The PI program is not as indepth as one might expect. Much of what a prospective student thinks they will learn is actually attained through interships. The program does provide a good base for those with no experience or those seeking a degree. The program is challenging enough and but no walk in the park. The staff is very supportive and will know you by first name. The grade you get will be the grade YOU earned. They are big on attendance and know their students and their progress. This is a great college for hard working adults with families and real life responsibilities who appreciate the opportunity to receive a college education who could care less about college football and beer. That said...Im having a good time at City College Ft. Lauderdale.
