City College - Fort Lauderdale

I was a PARKED student!!! I have a MA diploma went to city college simply for the nursing program and was told it was a 1 year waiting list to start the MA associate program and the credits will transfer, LIE! Yes my admission rep was fired for lying to several students and placing them in a prgram that does NOT have no credits similar to the RN program. When it was brought to my attention it was just told to sign up for the TEAS test....I want my dam money back I was lied to. If an admission rep was caught lying why was'nt the students signed up by him not notified and asked about what was said to the to make sure the were told the truth?The school is full on instructors that teach from powerpoints and test out of study guides, courses are made idiot proof and no one learns anything. I sometimes have to help teach students class what I know so they can understand A&P and med term. And everyone in Financial Aid are thieves the refuse to give you your credits on the account and never have a estimation up-to-date with the funds you actually recieve....They act like they are the ones paying your loan back....I cant stand this school anymore. I already have 2 appts set up, concorde and keiser.....City College is a waste of time and money!

I am a former nursing student at City College. I was there between 2009 and 2010, spending 4 semesters there. I withdrew myself at the end of Beginning Medical Surgical because I had some real issues with the school administration but most importantly the instructors. The instructors are INCOMPETANT and DO NOT have an understanding of the material they are expected to teach. Mrs. Marsh is the biggest offender. The good instructors are quickly replaced. There is a power struggle in that department. My biggest problem is the teaching, THERE IS NONE because the teachers DO NOT know the material. Reading from a PowerPoint supplied by the publishers of the textbook does not constitute teaching.

Students are expected to attend every class, if you are 15 minutes late it is counted as an absence, one absence and you'll have to repeat the class and can not get your money back. The students live in constant terror, they do not know who to go to for help. Students can not even talk amongst themselves because there are snitches in the program. Students will tell the department chair hoping that she will give them special treatment. Students are given a pharmacology test and medication calculation test before every semester. If you fail, you will not be shown your grade or which questions you got wrong. You are simply told that you failed and must take it again. You are given 2 chances and if you do not pass the 2nd time, you will have to withdraw. The Director of Education or administration will not help the students, they will listen with a sympathetic ear but NOT DO ANYTHING. Many student have tried and paid dearly when the word got back to Mrs. Ayers, the nursing department head. I decided to leave City College, knowing that no other colleges will accept my City College credit. I had to start from the beginning at another college. The experience has been painful but I am glad I left. The instructors can fail you and refuse to show your grade, it has happened many times to students they do not like. It was the biggest waste of time and money. I am angry because I could have already been an RN if I had chosen the right college to begin with. Now, here I am starting all over again and the people that suffered the most are my 3 kids. Mom has to spend more time in school. Do yourself and your children a favor, do not waste your time and money at City College. Best of luck to you.

The nursing program SUCKS!!!! They cant teach, unqualified instructors, the director of nursing should be fired! The school just want your money. We learned nothing in Pharmacology, infact the instructor wasn't qualified to teach this class.
