The University of North Florida

In the computer science program, you have to take classes in a certain hierarchy and you have to take one class before another class, and another class for some other class. It seems like there are prerequisite classes for everything. What's even worse is that if you don't get into a certain class right away then you are out of luck and have to wait until the next semester. There will only be like one teacher teaching a certain class that you need to take as a prerequisite for the next class, and the class will only be offered like one specific time during the week. For instance, last semester I had to take Java class and it was only offered in a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class at exactly 1:00Pm. If you could not take that specific class then you were just out of luck. Also with that Java class, I had to take Visual Basic as well, and that was only offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00pm. This meant that I could only take classes on those certain days or else. It is because of this school's rigid structure and non-flexible class hours that many students drop out of the school: 95% of the classes at UNF are in the day time, and they have very few if any online or night classes. This makes the University almost impossible for anyone that is working to attend the University. After all, since most jobs are 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm, or 10am to 6pm, this makes working full time and going to this school almost an impossibility. This school is almost impossible to attend if you are poor. I had to leave UNF and attend an online University because it would not allow me to work.
