Positive Negative Neutral Advice
As a recent grad of Tech, I haveNot so brightChemical Engineering
As a recent grad of Tech, I have realized that my horrible time at MaTech was well spent. I hated that school and everything it stood for while I was going there. I wanted nothing but to leave. But, seeing other graduates from other schools I have learned what Tech really did to/for me.

Tech is a school where you have to stand on your own two feet to graduate. They dont coddle you, baby you along, and give you a diploma at the end. What they do is make you work for it, everything. You can have a social life, if you actually get off your butt and work for it. You can do anything if you get off your butt and work for it. I am in law school now and see the laziness that has worked itself into the lives of lessor schools. These students expect things to be handed to them in their lap. They dont want to sacrifice anything. The first year of law school is a joke, not because I am smart (because I am an average Tech person), but because I am doing the things that I had to do at Tech to survive.

That's what it really boils down to. When recruiters come looking for Tech students above almost every other engineering school, they realize that you have a higher level of engineering knowledge compared to everyone else, and, you worked your butt of getting there. They know that there will be no trial by fire with you because you have already been in the fire. The rewards you get are much greater than the pain you feel while at Tech. I still have nightmares about the school, but I have gotten calls from law firms while the other engineers in my class havent.

Question
If there was another school with an AEQuite BrightAerospace Engineering
If there was another school with an AE program as good as this one's but with a nicer atmosphere and a real female population I would go there. Unfortunately that place doesn't exist so I must suffer through the complete lack of fulfillment that is Georgia Tech. The faculty cannot seem to do their job right the first time through. My advisor didn't advise me he just told me to bring him a proposed schedule for him to approve. The aerospace engineering school did not make sure their were enough Intro to AE classes for the 200 incoming AE freshman (they knew we were coming and had plenty of time to prepare). The GT counseling office put me on a waiting list (when I was talking to the counselor I got the feeling she just didn't care). The Housing department can't seem to read the roommate preference sheets (i.e. clean person and messy person should not be placed in the same room). Because of the lack of women at this school there is alot of rampant testosterone floating around. This demonstrates itself in the form of people going out of their ways to be assholes to others. There are many more complaints. If you wish to hear some more, just stop by Tech and ask any student who looks like they used to be a happy what they like about their school.
