This program is brand new and extremely unorganized.Quite BrightNursing
This program is brand new and extremely unorganized. Faculty picks and chooses which students they desire to be successful in this program and others are dropped. Part-time faculty is not available outside of class time. Exams are unfair- sometimes containing content that is irrelevant or that we have not learned. Grading is inconsistent. The bookstore is extremely overpriced and sometimes don't even carry the book for a particular class. Do not be fooled by the speedy 2 year advanced track.... it's possible they will fail you and it will take much longer.

Please and I do mean please save yourBrightTelecommunications
Please and I do mean please save your money and time coming to this university. I was a freshman here until I transferred to a new school. This school is more than a joke. It's just so sad its not even funny. I am a telecommunications major and when I was applying here they told me they had it. When I got here they said Oh no we got rid of that department this summer so that sucked. So then I had to be put in 4 classes and only 2 of them were required for my major and they were all volunteers. They literally just asked people to do the job. So far I have had to fight with 3 of my teachers, Emery Styron who literally was thrown in to teach me Modern Media. I had to argue with him about all my HW and grade. He's so dense in the head its ridiculous. Christine Mazurkewycz my English teacher WHO WON'T DO JACK SHIT for you. Oh she'll meet with you only on her time and the day before you have to turn in your paper. Last but not least Dennis Pedrick. The only problem with him is you have to stay on top of him with your grades cause I had an A in that class and the next week following I got an F like WTF? How? anyway the $34,457 or something like that in tuition you're spending here, could be at a college that actually cares. Remember, its not always bad just being a number to a university cause you can still get just as much help like you would from a small college.

I was a chem.Quite BrightChemistry
I was a chem. major at UIC, though I did well and went on to Grad. School, I know now how inferior my education was at UIC.

Mostly, it reflects very poor facilities and labs and professors who seem to be depressed and without energy and enthusiasm. The Chemistry Dept. is on the 4th floor of SES and it is very dirty, dank, grey and bunker-like. The physical facilities just weighs on one, rather than brings lightness and hope. One gets the feeling that the administration, even the Chem Head does not care about facilitates or state of labs. I now see that Chem at UIC is far inferior to programs at UIUC, MSU and even NIU. It is crime that the U of I school for the poorer and recent immigrants is so substandard compared to UIUC. UIC codifiesdiscrimination by economic status and ethnicity by offering such a substandard education in the U of I system.
