There is something systematically wrong when the university doesn't hire their alums. In addition to future employers not recognizing Chicago State as a credible institution, Ive found the staff and some professors to be unfriendly and disrespectful to their student. Dr Halpin of the geography and liberal studies department is the worst of them all. Also, the cashiers have made paying your tuition virtually impossible,,,,, This has been the worst experience of my life, and i regret daily that i intrusted my lively hood in Chicago State.... This College is a piece of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Surrounding City: A+, Innovation: F Have a Question? CSU is a great school with a nationally known physics department. Apart from the nonsence that goes on at the school.. our science department is well respected throughout illinois and throughout the school. Regardless of what people may think and all the bad press we get, your experiences is what you make it. I transfered from Texas to attend UIC, but found out that it was pretty pricey, so I applied to CSU, got accepted and now I'm about to graduate and attend dental school back in Texas. Just because you come from a low tier university does not mean you cant get into professional doctoral programs. I and countless others are witness to this.Come to CSU and make the best of it!!
