| Quite Bright | Overall, a fantastic school. Cheap compared to other private colleges with a responsive faculty at hand. Plus, you will acquire a great education. That's a hard combination to beat. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: C+ | | | |

Even though I got my undergrad degree at SC in Biochemistry (which is a major they no longer offer), and I am no longer in biological science, my experience there was incredibly valuable. When I interviewed colleges as a Jr/Sr in High School, most told me that I could not combine my talent in science with my love for theatre and Music. At SC, they welcomed this. I was a Chemistry Teaching assistant, a member of the A Capella Choir and Southwestern Singers, an ambassador, involved with almost every drama production, and president of Campus Players. I was very busy, but I developed both sides of my brain and learned excellent skills in time management. I graduated from a H.S. with 832 in my senior class alone. I was ready for a smaller school where I could excel at different things.
The most important thing I learned at Southwestern was an attitude of Servant Leadership. After earning my Masters degree in Social Work, I am now the Executive Director for a nonprofit that helps abused women move from welfare to work through education, employment and support. In watching my professors at SC, I learned that no high salary or fame was worth selling out. Finding a career in service to others and focused on social justice was the most important thing to me. It seems the only way sometimes to give back even a little of the generous abundance of blessings and care that have been given to me. | Starting Job: Laboratory Tech III- University of N.
