Positive Negative Neutral Advice
UMBC has a greatOther
UMBC has a great tight-knit community. UMBC students that have negative things to say about the campus life would probably be better off at a "party school." I would recommend UMBC to any graduating high school student that wants a great education and an even greater set of friends.

UMBC is getting increasinglyQuite BrightBiology
UMBC is getting increasingly hard to get into. For in state students, you need about a 3.5 GPA and 1900 SAT (M/CR/W- they look at all three) to expect admission. UMBC is indeed an up and coming school and will soon be held to the same standards as it's big brother, UMD-CP.

Question
UMBC is a fantastic school.Quite BrightPsychology
UMBC is a fantastic school. It was recently ranked #1 in "up and coming" schools. People give UMBC a hard time for having a bad social life, but that's not true. There are parties on the weekends, just not every single night of the week like other schools. UMBC attracts really smart, creative, and independent students. Don't go to UMBC if you're just going to goof off for 4 years. I chose UMBC over some of the best schools in the country- UMD-College Park, NYU, University of Michigan, and Georgia Tech...and it was the best decision I've ever made!
