I completed my generals at Normandale C.C. before transferring to the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota to finish my undergraduate education. I started at Normandale as a Post-Secondary Options student in high school, so I graduated high school with nearly a year-and-a-half of college completed. This afforded me to graduate at 22 with a double major in business. I was very happy as a student at Normandale C.C. and got very involved in a whole host of activities from being an Orientation Leader to the Peer Mentor Program to tutoring several subjects and being a note-taker for students with disabilities. Some of the best professors I ever had were at Normandale - many have since retired, but some of those I had are still around, such as Professor Mike Wartman in Communications. Yet, I know that the caliber of teaching has remained the same high quality. I have an uncle, Professor Bob Wellington, that started teaching there well after I left, and he is a truly gifted teacher and patient person aside from being exceptionally smart and even holding a patent on an exclusive satellite imagining technology (he is just the type of person you want to have as a math or physics teacher - someone with real-world experience to ground the knowledge). Know that if you are transferring to the Carlson School of Management, that they have a quota of students they will accept from community colleges as transfer students. It used to be two a semester and today it may only be one a semester. Therefore, you will have to be an exceptional student to pave your way to the Carlson School of Management or any other like school of excellence, but then Normandale C. C. makes excellence entirely possible for everyone. Highly recommended.

I received a fantastic education at Normandale for a low tuition cost. Class sizes were small, faculty (particularly in my department) were friendly, knowledgeable, and accessible. I had one or two bad professors during my time, but you'll find that anywhere. Absolutely love the campus, love the flexibility. Sometimes things like the elevator in the parking ramp would be out of order, but for the most part it is a wonderful campus.
