Positive Negative Neutral Advice
My one year at NCU was nothing moreQuite Bright
My one year at NCU was nothing more than a total waste of money. The faculty puts so much emphasis on spiritual growth that the education quality lacks immensely. Upon applying ti the school, I was lied to by the admissions counselor ( who couldn't have been older than 20) that the communications department had access to many resources for filming and that there would be many opportunities to engage in activities relating to my major. My whole year at NCU consisted of angry emails from the chapel department telling me that I was missing the key part of my "education" by not being in chapel. There are so many hidden fines that no student could possibly escape. If you want to feel like you never left high school and are spending your education money on church camp, this is the school for you. Their front office staff is incapable of getting anything done on time even though all the offices are located in 1 hallway and there are only 1,200 students who attend NCU. My high school front office was more effective at communication than these amateurs. To those wanting an excellent Christ centered education, look elsewhere. NCU is 1 year and $30,000 I will never get back.

Question
The school has a phenomenal spiritual atmosphere.Quite BrightCommunications
The school has a phenomenal spiritual atmosphere. It's Bible/Theology classes are superior to any other school I've seen. I grew a great deal in my spiritual life, which was of great importance to me.

However, the school puts a great deal of emphasis on marketing itself, without always having the resources to provide a suitable academic environment for its students. Consequently, my program was just cut. I'm sorry that I didn't choose a school that better suited my course of study (a 'secular' major).

Also, the school has a very poor sense of professionalism, which at times resulted in great frustrations with the cashier's office, registrar and financial aide. Small schools such as North Central are usually great in that they offer small class sizes and a good teacher-student ratio. However, due to financial constraints, NCU has done a great deal of cutting-back when it comes to class offerings. As a result, it is difficult to graduate in 4 years. A student should carefully weigh the importance he/she places on class size and practicality before coming to NCU.
