Saint Paul College

SPC is a good school if you know what you're doing and if you really dig in to what's going on. Unfortunately for me I was about 5 years out of school and knew basically nothing about college (how it works, what to do/what not do academically/classes). So I was like well I'll take a business management AS degree (sounded good, no real good reasons, just needed to pick something). Right now I 100% wish I would have just chosen an AA degree which is more general and transfers easier. Unfortunately no advisers at the school informed me I may have trouble transferring and that there may be many required courses (calculus, statistics, etc.) that 4 year business schools require that are not within my degree program. This created issues for me where I took classes that didn't transfer and had to take others outside my degree to actually get credits I needed. That's a big mess. I am someone who is paying for school not on some government loan thing so I care about my money. SPC did a very poor job with advising though I stopped in for advising multiple times. The key is you are going to have to figure out the college system yourself. The school will help a little but you're going to have to dig in and figure things out.

There are some decent resources at SPC and they are really trying their best. But honestly it just always seems kind of ghetto at the school and not really a happy place I guess. Community colleges (any of them) are about getting what you need and getting out ASAP. I spent 2.5 years at SPC and should have only spent 1.5 if I knew what I was doing. My fault. But also the school's fault. But as long as I keep feeding them money they don't care. That's unjust. It's review forums like this that are evening the playing field.SPC overall is a good school. But it's best for minority students or PSEO students in the area who can take some generals and move on. As far as technical degrees that you want for 2 years and move on (besides the beauty stuff and other things I don't know a thing about) the only one I recommended would be something with IT because they seem to be good in that area. Get it and get out and get a job. Other than that just get an AA degree (which you can do in 1.5 years if you're proactive) and move on!
