Metropolitan Community College Area

I attended MCC for two years and earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I subsequentely went on to Bellevue Univeristy and finished up a Bachelors Degree and currently work in my field of study. The education at MCC is good, however it is up to the student to take full advantage of the resources available. The classes very from teacher to teacher. In some cases, people would sleep in class and/or were absent half the time and still passed. In other classes (American National Government) the teacher was very demanding and if you slacked off, you would definitely fail. If you are just out of high school or a parent of a recent high school grad who is not sure about what college or university to go to, chose Metro. I say this because the classes are only $40.00 a credit hour and the credits will transfer to UNO, Bellevue Univeristy, ext. The student can get throught the "I don't know what to major in phase" at Metro, without racking up a large tuition debt. They can always move on to the university at a later date, plus they can get some basic education requirements out of the way, at minimal cost. MCC has campuses all over Omaha and in Fremont and Sarpy Co. I attended MCC at several of the colleges different locations and they were all exceptional.

2nd Year Male -- Class 2004

Education Quality: A+, Scholastic Success: B-

I went here because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do or what university I wanted to attend. This school helped me figure that out while being affordable at the same time. I'm very happy I went there. The one bad thing is that you don't really get that college life experience that you do at a big university. I figure I will get that when I transfer though.
