A very close minded place full of contradiction information, unhelpful faculty. I am happy to be rid of this place in the spring!

3rd Year Female -- Class 2019

Campus Aesthetics: A+, Education Quality: F

I transferred from SU after my sophomore year. In the 2 years I was there, I noticed several terrible things about the school. For starters, the administration simply does not care about anyone or anything except if it relates to money. Many of my friends also transferred, and hated their time at Susquehanna. Next, the professors. They could not care if their students passes or failed, as long as they got paid. You would think that they would help their students as much as possible. HA!!! Campus life? None. The people who run student activities do not know what to do, and the "activities" they do provide are pointless. The school is losing money and spending money it doesn't have. Did the school seriously need to spend half a million dollars on a Starbucks in Melon Lounge? NO!!! Did the school need to spend 2-2.5 million dollars on renovations the first floor of the library? NO!!! So, in conclusion, not a single person at the "institution" has any idea what to do, and they should go back to school and learn a thing or two.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

I am currently a sophomore at SU and am working on making my way out. If you are thinking of applying here, I'd highly advise against it. Chances are, you'd be going to a worse SU than I go to now. My classes and professors have all been pretty good for the most part, you will get a decent education here. However, at this point in time the schools administration is a MESS and it could plummet even further if changes are not made soon. SU does not treat it's students as people, but as numbers. The school does give out a lot of financial aid, but this may not be the case soon. They are desperate for money, and will take every opportunity they have to fine you or take your money. Residence life threatened to force my friend to pay an extra 500 dollars or so because his roommate never showed and now he was "occupying a single." It's all because of the very poor decision to build the 18th Street Commons. The university spent a lot of money to create these beautiful townhouses for students to live in; the only problem being that students were not choosing to live there. The school lost a lot of money as a result, and this semester they eliminated off campus housing with their reason being "their new ability to house all students on campus." (not a direct quote) In reality, they NEED students to live on campus in order to make up for all the lost money. The already lacking social life has gotten even worse. Students are now forced to party in on-campus townhouses. Houses meant to house 4-8 people are filled with 60-100 on the weekends. The students simply have no where else to go on weekends. In spite of their financial troubles, they saw it appropriate to purchase and place lawn chairs throughout campus right before the coming winter, when nobody wants to be outside. The one thing they pride themselves on, the GO program is very poorly run as well. There is no sense of urgency or guidance from the administration when it comes to applying for these programs. Students have to go out of their way to learn all the deadlines. Another peer of mine missed to deadline to apply for a semester abroad and upon learning this at the GO office she was shown no sympathy, and she got a strong feeling that the faculty simply did not care that she lost her chance to experience something amazing. I'd highly advise against applying to SU, the administration does not know what they are doing and I am no longer surprised by the poor decisions they make. I am not proud to be a Crusader.
