This is a higher education Yeshiva and can only be reviewed as such. Comparing it to a secular knowledge based college is apples and oranges. Unless you're a right wing Orthodox Jew, you have no reason at all to consider YBM. The staff at YBM are not exactly the most warm and fuzzy in the world but they certainly care about each individual student and will take the time to work with anyone who asks to be worked with.

There's not that much hands on supervision of college level students. You're expected to abide by the rules on your own and they rely mostly on peer pressure to following them. There are tons of rules about not having virtually any outside influences on campus (even newspapers and many secular books) but the minor rules are essentially ignored.YBM focuses almost exclusively on in-depth Talmud study and even other Judaic subjects such as Bible and ethics are virtually ignored during studying sessions and lectures. This is par for the course in right wing Yeshivos, but I do wish they'd put more emphasis on something other than intellectual stimulation for the sake of intellectual stimulation. Also, there's no vocational training. You don't learn to be a pulpit rabbi or Judaic studies teacher. You basically just learn how to be really adept at studying and analyzing Judaic law. FWIW, those skills to translate very well to law school if you want to go to law school afterwards.
