Bob Jones University

This is a good school, but I have really had my eyes opened to some things after graduation. It is taking me time to reprogram my thinking to become more in keeping with God's Word. There is a sad level of legalism and spiritual pride that exists at this place that I now know see is very detrimental spiritually. I never minded the rules, and I don't think they are the problem. The problem is how they are enforced and percieved, and there are many who believe they are the markers of spirituality and that those who don't live by the same rules are worldy. I have many friends who have been completely derailed when they find out there are incredible Christians who have never lived their lives in accordance to a BJ handbook. This legalism is continually denied, but it wouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes to find the students leaders and faculty who would be more than willing to criticize other poeople, schools, and churches that don't do things the "BJ" way. My parents never allowed me to look at other Christian colleges, but they have learned to do that for the rest of the family.
