The academics are reallySuper BrilliantEnglish
The academics are really good - but the rules are just strange. I wouldn't have any problem if we were in middle school, but as a 20-something, I expect to be treated like an adult. But hey, it's college, and I don't think it should be a picnic.

It has its positivesAveragePerfomance Arts
It has its positives and negatives. Positives would be outstanding academics, friendly people, beautiful campus. Negatives, a little legalistic sometimes. Rules, rules, rules. They can become overbearing at times.

Question
Now that I have taught for three years,Education
Now that I have taught for three years, I can say with confidence that Bob Jones University provided me with all the training I needed. The education classes taught me how to teach and the history and political science classes taught me the basics of the information that I teach. There is no denying it, BJU has a certain reputation for not being your typical college or university. While I was there, I was just like your average 18-22 year old who was not happy to be told what to do and given rules to obey. My advice (4 maturing years later) is if you're faced with a situation (or a rule) that irritates you makes you wonder, "Who do these people think they are? They can't make me do that!" Just stop for a minute, empty your mind of all your immediate objections, and ask God to help you understand what it is that is required of you. Try to think of why this rule is there in the first place. If all of these suggestions don't work, then be humble. Tell yourself that even though you don't understand or don't agree with the rule, you're going to obey it while you are there. After graduation, or when you go home, you can prayerfully consider whether or not you need to continue applying that rule to your life. I think any Christian student can benefit from the education that Bob Jones University provides. Go there, accept all the good things that are offered. When you're faced with things that are bad (which is inevitable in any institution you attend) remember, Bob Jones University is run by humans. Humans sin, they mess up, they don't see the entire situation at one time and react appropriately, they can be judgmental and wrong on occasion. Only God is perfect, no person, no matter how strong a Christian will ever be perfect. Bob Jones University is run by Christians who are striving their best to serve God and honor him - if you enjoy the company of those kind of people than BJU is the place for you.
