I felt very preparedEducation
I felt very prepared for my profession. Due to professional training in my field along with strict character building, I am a better person. I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. The rules got old by my jr/sr year...but they were worth it, and, I viewed it mostly as crowd control.

Question
I am a 1983 Graduate in Accounting andSuper BrilliantAccounting
I am a 1983 Graduate in Accounting and find it interesting that some seem to have misguided notions about the background of Bob Jones University. This is a School of higher learning whose core focus is the Bible...with no apology. When there are rules, whether one agrees with them or not, why is a person surprised? The education is excellent. Discipline is strong...but fair. The preparation for "real life" is unequalled. The cost is one of the most affordable by any standard. My classmates are currently at top positions in large corporations, Educators, Presidents of other Colleges, etc. As I see it, one attends a University to both obtain an education and to prepare for life past that University. Bob Jones did both for me. If you wish to party and dictate to the school what you wish to do, then this is not a good place for you...nor is any place for that matter. Save your money and stay at home where little might be expected of you. If you wish more from yourself and want to learn the way life really is, then Bob Jones can be a good place for you. If you don't care about the Bible, don't even think about Bob Jones. Remember....Bob Jones University's foundation IS the Bible. This school helped shape me into what I am today...successful and educated.

Question
Anyone thinking about coming to Bob Jones UniversityBrightUndecided
Anyone thinking about coming to Bob Jones University better check their conscience at the door. This is a place where a lot of people come to date, get married, and have 20 kids. It's supposedly a Christian school, yet most everyone here supports very anti-Christian policies (basically everyone here is foolish/deluded enough to believe that George W. Bush is a moral person). Interracial marriage is certainly frowned upon here...basically, this is the sort of institution that breeds a very subtle form of bigotry. Anyone that's not Christian is seen as a barbaric heathen who is on a one way path to hell. If you don't believe exactly as fundamentalists clowns such as Jerry Falwell believe, you're considered an outcast and shunned by the general student body. Basically, this is a school for people who have no sense of reason and have no desire to think critically about anything for fear that using your brain and opening your heart to people that are different from you is against God's will. Bob Jones University is a poster child for why so many around the world are disillusioned with Christianity...luckily, this school doesn't represent all Christians...unfortunately, there are still too many who think the Bob Jones brand of faith is the one and only way to heaven. Please, if you truly want to surround yourself with open-minded, tolerant Christians, avoid Bob Jones at all costs. If you simply want to follow the ways of the false prophets (like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell), then Bob Jones may be for you. Hopefully, those who go to BJU see the light one day. We can pray.
