Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Several years ago a reporter called me forFine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Several years ago a reporter called me for an interview. He initially told me the article he was working on was unusual careers, since I'm an actor he said my career fit in that description. I agreed to the interview and we met at a local coffee shop. I quickly discovered that this young, eager reporter was looking for me to bash BJU. I refused and excused myself from the interview. I have had many opportunities over the years to speak my mind publicly about BJU but have always declined. To be honest I enjoy forcing my opinion on others and I still haven't lost the thrill at seeing my name or picture in print or on tv. I refuse to speak on BJU because for me to be honest my comments would be negative and I do not feel that would accomplish anything except hurt people who for all their other faults have for the most part have been kind and gracious to me while a student and after. If you read the comments on this site you will find a wide array of opinions. The best way to discover for yourself if BJU is the place for you is to visit and talk with the many willing and friendly people on campus. Don't take the word of disiluisioned and bitter ex-students (myself included) as true for you. Remember, everyone is different and their path and experiences through life vary. Also don't judge BJU's English department on my submission.

Question
My greatest concern with the University is thatNot so bright
My greatest concern with the University is that they do not promote personal belief/conviction. I say this because they do not allow discussion and argument about different biblical facts/perspectives/truths. I believe that God gave us analytical minds and different perspectives for a reason. His truths that He gave us in scriptures can withstand any debate and the whole idea of submission without question worries me. Hitler firmly believed in what he taught and yet he would not allow others to question him. So....how is BJU different for the Nazi regime?

Question
I was born and raised on campus, althoughQuite BrightMusic - Performance
I was born and raised on campus, although I lived about 7 miles away. I had a very pleasant childhood, yes it was sheltered, but it was still pleasant. I didn't have any problems interacting with non-Bob Jones people. The University itself is a very pleasant place to be at. The rules are in place for reasons of expediency. The Faculty and Staff feel great responsibilty for watching over the students while they are there. While some of the rules are taken from direct Biblical principles, there are many that even administrators have admitted are just to make things flow while students are there, and are not necessarily to be followed once you leave. Overall I found my time at BJU to be very educational, spiritually edifying, and overall a very pleasant experience.
