I came to Florence from New York toQuite BrightPreLaw and Legal
I came to Florence from New York to take care of my mother who was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Then, when my mother’s condition didn’t get any better, I decided to transfer my credits from NYU to FMU. At first, I was excited about the idea of going to a small college; however it didn’t take me very long to meet the reality. First, the administration of this school is out of control. If you need help with anything or you encounter any obstacles of some kind, don’t expect to find anyone to help. If you report a crime, you become a suspect. If you ask questions, you become a troublemaker. Second, FMU is constantly losing students. About 80 percent of the admitted students drop out of school within the first semester. Others transfer to Coastal Carolina U, Darlington Tech, or Clemson U. This forces the administration to admit students who don’t belong to college. These students are drug dealers, addicts, thieves, etc. Professors are pressed by the administration to do everything possible to keep students from dropping out. These professors are sent away if they fail students. So, this way, all the good professors retire, leave for other schools, or get fired. This is how FMU became what it is today! Now, if the administration changes and good professors get hired, FMU can be a good place; but then, what would you do about the city of Florence? I don’t know how anyone can say anything good about Florence. The city is miserable, depressing, nowhere to walk, drugs, and murder everywhere. Two of my classmates were robbed on campus in broad daylight. The city of Florence as well as FMU have been working hard to hide crimes. Last year the FBI cited Florence for hiding crimes and reporting fewer crimes. I don’t recall the details, but you do your research and your find out. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Question
Despite what all of these other people areQuite BrightEnglish
Despite what all of these other people are saying Francis Marion University is a great place to further your education. It is quite easy to get in but this whole drop out rate that everyone is complaining about is simply because many Freshmen aren't mature enough to pass these highly academic classes! All of these negative views are simply coming from people who couldn't cut it in a college environment! If you want a challenging experience that will prepare you for your future job, and allow you to meet great friends while you're here...go to FMU!
