 | Bright | Maryville College is, for the most part, a welcoming place full of friendly people. Professors are extremely helpful and as you become upperclassmen, the professors really do treat you like friends and invite you to their homes for dinner. Although the coursework is extremely hard, it is very rewarding. However the one negative I have encountered is in financial aid. The people in financial aid are not friendly or welcoming-- and yes, I understand the financial aid office is not the most comforting place to be, but I feel like the people should be understanding and helpful instead of vindictive and conniving. | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Collaboration/Competitive: C- | | | |

| Bright | Maryville is a smaller town, but there is still plenty to do--tons of great food, music, bars, etc. Downtown Knoxville is less than 20 minutes away, and the Smoky Mtns are 20 minutes away. You're not just a number at this school, you get quality attention from knowledgeable professors (more than 90% of professors have their doctorate). You can jump in on research projects with the professors, which looks really good on your resume. I loved the time I spent there, I'd go back in a heartbeat. | Education Quality: A+, Surrounding City: B+ | | | |

| Quite Bright | This institution is a comeplete s***show. They never follow their student handbook, or follow up on any complaints. several teachers are legitimately mentally ill. Heads of departments could not care less about student issues, they LITERALLY laugh in your face then lie to higher administration about it. There are teachers that should absolutely have their licenses taken away but any student evaluations at the end of the year are literally thrown out without being read. I have witnessed many students screaming and crying because of a certain teacher who follows ZERO rules and has NO regard for student safety. thiscollege is graduating cocaine dealers, alcoholics, child abusers, potheads and killers. This institution is a complete nightmare and is more likely to ruin your life rather than improve it.
