Positive Negative Neutral Advice
Chances are many of the other negative reviewsNot so bright
Chances are many of the other negative reviews are by people who were forced to come here or didn't have the grades to go anywhere else. Now the people who were able to choose to come here well, good for you. Most of us don't have options or we have few options. I had 2 colleges to choose from.

I only came to ODU because my other was Radford. I got in with a 2.6 and a 900 SAT score. I transferred to the community college because I want to go to another college.

I did enjoy ODU but well fist off it's located in a hellhole. Secondly, ODU is seriously understaffed and many other colleges don't have that issue.

Many people like me have transferred out of ODU and will tell you that other colleges are better academically than ODU. I know many people who transferred out and are a lot happier. ODU is trashy compared to many other colleges.

If ODU wants to improve then they need to get the hell out of Norfolk. My friend was attacked on campus and was put in the hospital. That kind of thing happens weekly but no one wants to admit to it.

ODU has a good Bio and engineering department but it's no Va Tech. If you can go to UVA, William and Mary, or Va Tech then go, They get a lot more funding than ODU. They have more things you can do.I'm happier since I've transferred out. The teaching at the community college is a hell of a lot better. The majority of people who got out of ODU are happier at the colleges they transferred to.

Question
Be careful of sites like this. Not so bright
Be careful of sites like this. Chances are many of the positive reviews are written by people who work for the college and are paid to write good reviews.

The negative reviews are written by those are stuck going to that college.
Now if you dislike this college work hard so you can get into the college you want or one you think is better.

ODU is one of the easiest colleges to get into. I got in and I slacked off in high school. My GPA was a 2.6.ODU has a decent BIO and Engineering departments. The local area isn't the best and there is a lot of crime that ODU won't mention when you first apply. Now you are an hour away from William and Mary and 30 minutes from the beach.

Question
The dude who posted before this is aNot so bright
The dude who posted before this is a moron or works for the ODU. I was told by the admissions office that I couldn't get in, and I did. ODU will accept most everyone and if you don't get in you are an idiot.

To the dude who said you can't get in well, there are a lot of high schools who will let you graduate with less than 2.. That's if it's in a bad schools system.

Most of the people I graduated were potheads and slackers and were able to get in and graduate.
I'm not bashing ODU BUT, you can get in with less than 3.0. Most of the people I've since I've been here had gotten in with less than that.

I went to community college graduated with a 2.27. It's supposed to be a 2.5 with an associates and I still got in. The graduate degree gpa requirement is 2.8 and they changed it to that last year. Radford's requirement is 3.0. ODU's Biology, engineering, and geology departments are good. All my professors in those classes were great.
