If you are serrious about learning German you should not take him.  It took me all semester to correct some elementary errors of his.  Just do not take him.  He is not German and he cannot teach it either.  He is very very unprepared.  He just comes in and speaks his horriable German askes me how to say certain words that he doesn't know (note I got a c- for participation).  Does not give proper feedback (got no grade below a B where did the C come from).  I have never had a professor like this in my 4 years of college.  E-mail me if you think this is a lie I will prove it s_loesevitz@yahoo.com
 
Should do to do well...
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.  He gave me no feedback below a B and tried to get away with giving me a C- for participation.  THis is probally because my German is like that of a German because grew up there and he is a wannabe German or American... he doesn't know what he is, what he is talking about, he is on the wrong side of the fence or at least that is what the class assumes. 
 
Should know...
If you are a guy well I guess you could suck up since he looks like he is from the other side.
