Major: Physics (This Major's Salary over time)
Pros: cheap to live here, people are nice, not much traffic, and it's a technical area. Lots of research opportunities, and there are a few good teachers here. Cons: The school is amazingly poor, and many departments rely upon grants to get anything at all done. Expect to meet the minimum number of required classes if your teacher is grant chasing, and the quality of instruction to be below average. Also expect the facilities in your department to be pretty poor. Neutral: They recruit from their ranks. Students have been known to enter this school as freshmen and remain here through all levels of education, ultimately ending up as staff themselves. The average grad student age is above the mean because of the number of part time people from the surrounding industry.
