Major: Chemistry (This Major's Salary over time)
I never thought I would attend Towson. I was accepted to top ranking schools but for personal reasons, I was limited to the Baltimore area. In general, I find that much of the student body is apathetic and unmotivated. General Education classes are terrible and for the most part, a joke. If you want to get the most out of your education, you'll research professors and find those who are academically rigerous and fascinating. However, once you get into your major, unmotivated students are weeded out. I am in the Environmental Science program, concentrating in chemistry. I think chemistry is a great department. The faculty is always accessible and wants you to do well. You have to pick your professors carefully but the good ones are excellent. They have a fabulous tutoring center and if you try and work hard, you will succeed. There are plenty of academic opportunities- I am involved in undergraduate research in chemistry. As far as social life.. there is a lot of drinking and plenty of parties - not too many "cultural" activities. You'll definately have fun though. Baltimore is a great city and there is plenty of night life.
